S.T.A.R. Programs

  • Must pass a DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Central Index Fingerprint Clearance
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be declared able to work by a physician including ability to pass a TB test

EXPECTATIONS: 

  • Maintain professional boundaries 
  • Be dedicated to growing personally and professionally
  • Passion for working with at-risk youth in a fast paced environment
  • Be dedicated to your shift
  • Attend a once a month agency training on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-9pm
  • Attend ongoing trainings that will benefit your future career development

Career Opportunities:

  • Weekend Direct/Support Counselor for girl's and boy's group home: You must have at least an AA in a social or behavioral science, BA preferred and at least 6 months of experience working with at-risk adolescents. 

    • Direct Care Counselor at girl's: Friday 2-11p, Saturday 10a -11p, and Sunday 10a-10p (34 hours) ​​

    • Support Counselor at boy's: Saturday 5-11p and Sunday 5-10p (11 hours) and Saturday 4-11p and Sunday 4-10p (13 hours)

  • Counselor Supervisor Case Manager for boy's group home: You must have a Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science and at least one year working with at-risk youth. The hours are Monday - Friday 9a-5p, however, the hours may vary depending on the needs of the youth. Must be able to take part in after hours on-call rotation once ever 4-6 weeks. 

  • Senior Counselor for boy's and girl's group home: You must have a Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science and at 6 months to one year working with at-risk youth. The hours are Monday - Thursday 12p-10p, however, the hours may vary depending on the needs of the youth. Must be able to take part in after hours on-call rotation once ever 4-6 weeks. 

  • Direct Care Counselor for boy's group home: You must have a Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science. 

    • Monday-Thursday 12pm-10pm

  • Relief Counselor for day and overnight shifts: Available to pick up shifts on an as needed basis. There are no guaranteed hours. This shift is ideal for those entering the social work field.

 All applicants must be able to attend biweekly staff meetings and a monthly agency training every third Wednesday of the month from 6-9p.
